About LLBIKE: From a Chinese Rider’s Real Pain Point to a High-End Companion for Global Cyclists
As my wheels roll over the winding gravel roads of Huangshan Mountain in Anhui or weave through the morning commute traffic in Shanghai, I’ve always believed: the freedom of cycling shouldn’t be interrupted by “small troubles.” Over the past 8 years, with a total of 30,000 kilometers of riding experience, the biggest frustration I’ve faced has always been “how to use mobile navigation safely”.
Whether I’m exploring unmarked mountain paths in Mogan Mountain, Zhejiang on weekends or commuting 10 kilometers to work on weekdays, I can’t live without cycling apps on my phone—it reminds me in real time that “there’s a steep slope 500 meters ahead,” helps me avoid temporarily closed alleys, and even finds the nearest shelter when it rains. But the problem is: to check the information, I have to stop temporarily. When parking by the narrow road in Huangshan, a tourist bus might suddenly come from behind; when braking sharply at a fork in Shanghai, the morning rush-hour traffic can surround me. Frequent stops not only disrupt the rhythm of the ride but also pose a constant safety hazard.
To solve this pain point, I tried almost every cycling gear on the market—until I found the silicone phone holder that transformed my riding experience. This is also the origin of LLBIKE, a high-end Chinese brand going global.
From “Trial and Error” to “The Right Solution”: Why Silicone Holder Won?
At first, I followed the trend and bought a popular imported high-end bicycle computer. It could connect to a heart rate monitor and record riding data, seeming “all-around.” But in practice, it was full of compromises: its price of several thousand yuan was enough to replace a set of Shimano UT groupset; the palm-sized screen couldn’t display real-time traffic conditions, and when it reflected light on rainy days, even the “left turn” arrow was indistinguishable; worst of all, it couldn’t update real-time traffic like a mobile phone—once, I followed it and missed a closed construction section in Changbai Mountain Scenic Area, taking a 15-kilometer detour.
Later, I switched to a smartwatch, hoping to “free my hands,” but the experience was even worse: I had to keep lifting my wrist to check information while riding, and my arm became sore after half an hour; the screen was even smaller than the bicycle computer, only showing “2 kilometers remaining”—to confirm the next supply point, I still had to stop. What’s more frustrating was its delayed weather alerts: during a ride in Wuyi Mountain, Fujian, I didn’t receive a rainstorm warning in advance, getting soaked all over and my phone nearly short-circuiting from moisture.
After countless trials, I realized: the mobile phone is the most practical tool. It offers accurate navigation, real-time traffic updates, and mainstream apps like Strava and Komoot can connect to cadence sensors and power meters—covering all functions of a bicycle computer. Additionally, pairing it with headphones allows for navigation announcements and music playback, making it far more versatile than any dedicated bike computer. But a new problem arose: how to fix the phone firmly on the handlebars?
I researched more than 20 types of holders and finally narrowed it down to two categories:
- Plastic/metal holders: They clamp tightly but are rigid with no shock absorption. During a 2-kilometer ride on the cobblestone roads of Dali, Yunnan, my phone was directly shaken off, leaving a crack on the screen—after that, I never dared to use this type of holder again.
- Full liquid silicone holders: I was amazed the first time I used it: no screws needed—just slip it onto the handlebars and fasten it. The silicone’s elasticity effectively cushions vibrations; when riding on the bumpy roads of Qingcheng Mountain, Sichuan, it absorbs most of the shocks, and the phone is firmly wrapped by the four corners, never shaking even when rushing through gravel piles. Most thoughtfully, it has a reserved charging port at the bottom—during a 100-kilometer long-distance ride on Xinjiang’s Duku Highway, I connected a power bank for navigation, and the phone never ran out of battery.
I’ve used this holder for 18 months, accumulating over 5,000 kilometers of riding (2,000 of which were on icy and snowy roads in Changbai Mountain, Northeast China, where the silicone didn’t harden or crack at -15℃). A simple rinse with water restores the non-slip particles to like-new condition, with no deformation or yellowing. More importantly, we adhere to the four core standards of “high-end quality + environmental responsibility + riding convenience + safe cycling”: the silicone material is recyclable, causing no burden to the environment; it has passed anti-vibration tests (no loosening after 1,000 handlebar vibrations), ensuring safety across global riding scenarios. This small accessory brings immense convenience to cycling.
Founding LLBIKE: Bringing Life-Enhancing High-End Cycling Gear to the World
When I recommended this holder to my cycling friends—whether they’re Shanghai office workers commuting daily or mountain bike enthusiasts off-roading in Nyingchi, Tibet—they all praised it: “Finally, no need to risk stopping to check the phone!”
- A commuting friend said: “When passing the speed bumps on Pingjiang Road in Suzhou, the phone stays as stable as if glued to the handlebars. I can take it off in one second before entering the subway—super convenient.”
- A mountain bike enthusiast told me: “Rushing down the steep slopes of Huashan Mountain in Shaanxi or jumping over stones, the holder never loosens. It’s much more reliable than the imported metal holder I used before, and the silicone material won’t hurt me if I fall.”
These genuine affirmations inspired me to found LLBIKE. We don’t make “all-inclusive ordinary products”—instead, we’re committed to sharing high-end cycling gear with global riders: gear that’s safe, lightweight, tested on complex road conditions, solves real pain points, and embraces environmental responsibility.
